Make up这个短语单独出现在句子里面的时候，很多时候可以当和好来讲，例如：We had a fight and he stormed out last night. We didn't make up until now.我们昨晚吵架了，他愤然离开。到现在也没有和好。如果make up和mind搭配的时候，就是下定决心，主意已定的意思。My mind is made up。我主意已定。I made up my mind to win this game。我下定决心要赢下这场比赛。
